See those boards in the snow pile? That’s a picnic table that has been missing for a while! As the snow is melting off, we are all looking forward an outdoor picnic and wondering how the lawns look under their winter blanket.
Brutally cold temperatures and snow cover may have actually helped protect the lawns from Snow Mold. It’s the wet heavy sloppy snow and rain that seem to provide the perfect condition for Snow Mold. The areas that I have gotten a glimpse of actually look pretty good. It is important to remember that we are not out of the risk zone of Snow Mold yet. During late February and March we are most likely to get those sloppy wet conditions. Some years the snow is done for the season from the beginning of March on, others we are not so lucky. We are looking forward to some warmer weather and getting out to visit our clients and their lawns!
