Do you see mushrooms in your lawn? Are you wondering why you have them? Mushrooms have gradually become somewhat of a nuisance to homeowners. Large mushroom colonies can have a serious impact on turf-grass. Mushroom colonies thrive in west moist grass and mild temperatures. Mushroom flowers flourish in moist soil and will continue spread until their food source is no longer. This causes a problem for homeowners.
Homeowners are often concerned with the risks of having “mushroom flowers” bloom in their lawn. They are a big curiosity for pets and small children alike. Currently, there aren’t any fungicides available on the market to control these “flowers”. In order to control mushrooms in your lawn, you need to control the environment in which they thrive. Many homeowners destroy them as they see them surface. Lawn mowers and rakes do a good job breaking them up and wiping them out. Remember, mushrooms will continue to grow until soil conditions change.
Caution. Do not eat the mushrooms that appear in your turf-grass. Serious health risks including loss of life can occur. We do not recommend eating wild mushrooms. Identification of mushrooms is difficult. Leave it to the trained experts!
