Snow mold. You tried to prevent it. You failed. Now what? There are certain steps you need to take in dealing with snow mold. Gently rake the area with a plastic leaf rake. Rake matted grass areas as soon as the snow melts. This will help moisture escape and allow air to reach the molded turf-grass letting it dry out. In most cases, this will clear up the snow mold infection. Unfortunately, in some severe cases, you will need to reseed the area(s). When reseeding, be sure to select a quality seed blend that shows resistance to snow mold. Brookside offers bags of high quality seed (50/50 Kentucky Blue Grass & Perennial Rye Grass) blend. The cost of seed is $3.29/lb. plus tax (10lb. and 50lb bags are available). Call 888.701.LAWN to get yours today.
