Grub and Chinch Bug Prevention:
What Are Grubs?
Grubs are beetle larvae. Beetles lay eggs in late spring and early summer. Grubs are “C” shaped and have an off white color. Grubs can be found in the soil while gardening or doing yard work.
What Are Chinch Bugs?
Chinch bugs are lawn insects that love the sun. Chinch can be very tiny (1/8″). The adults are black with a white stripe. Young chinch are a red-orange color and very hard to see.
When To Treat For Grub And Chinch Bugs:
Ideally lawn damage will be prevented with A grub and chinch bug prevention treatment. Prevention treatments need to be applied prior to having a lawn insect infestation. Once the problem exists a curative application for grubs is necessary. All treatments need to be watered in thoroughly.
What To Expect:
Chinch bugs will die within 1-2 weeks after treatment. Treatments do not fix damaged grass. Watering will help the damaged grass grow out. Reseeding may be necessary depending on the infestation.
